Daniel A. Hershey
Daniel A. Hershey provides paralegal corporate, tax, and charitable trust services for nonprofit organizations. In particular, Mr. Hershey assists clients with nonprofit formation, incorporation, bylaw development and review, applying for tax-exempt status with the IRS, and state and federal compliance. He also provides support to the firm’s attorneys in the areas of governance, nonprofit mergers and dissolutions.
In addition to working directly with clients, Mr. Hershey manages the business and operational aspects of the firm. While directing the day-to-day operations, Mr. Hershey also focuses his efforts on business development, workflow management for the attorneys, and marketing activities.
Mr. Hershey formerly served as the Development Associate and as the System Administrator for the Boston Lyric Opera. His responsibilities encompassed the coordination of fund raiser mailings, maintenance of the donor database, oversight of the daily operations of a ten-user LAN, conversion to a new network configuration, user support for proprietary ticketing and development software, and the recommendation, purchase and installation of hardware and software upgrades.
Before his work in the nonprofit sector, Mr. Hershey was a staff consultant for Anderson Consulting where he worked on a conversion project for a major defense contractor that migrated a 5 million record database into an integrated and customized bill of material and work order system. Other work included similar migration projects for two major consumer products companies.
Daniel Hershey received a M.M. degree in vocal performance from New England Conservatory with academic honors in 1999, and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Rochester in Mathematics in 1992.
