KRISTIN Z. NOON

Attorney Kristin Noon provides legal counsel to nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations across the New England region and beyond. Throughout her career, Kristin’s work has been deeply connected to the nonprofit sector. Her range of experience as both an advisor to donors, funders, and high-net worth individuals and as a nonprofit leader raising philanthropy and building programs allows her to bring a holistic approach to client representation.

When working with nonprofit organizations, Kristin’s approach includes legal, operational, financial, governance, fundraising, communications, and investment considerations. She represents nonprofit organizations throughout their life cycles, including formations, mergers, and dissolutions, and provides counsel on governance and board-development related matters. Kristin’s work also includes Cy Pres petitions to clarify or amend the purposes for which an organization’s restricted funds may be used, and Section 8A notices to authorize the sale or transfer of a nonprofit’s assets.

Kristin is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, cum laude, and Suffolk University Law School. She earned a postgraduate certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice. She began her career as a judicial law clerk to the justices of Probate and Family Court Department of the Trial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, then entered private practice in the areas of gift and estate planning and administration and corporate law. Prior to joining Hurwit & Associates in 2024, Kristin served as the Executive Director of the Wenham Museum where she worked closely with the board, staff, and volunteers and gained a wealth of first-hand, practical experience running a nonprofit organization.

Kristin is a member of the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Bar Associations. She lives on the North Shore with her husband and two boys and enjoys reading, supporting her local community through volunteerism, and visiting area trails and beaches.
